In the heart of Sandwich's Historic District, this 1960's home was left to rot, until an art installer from Chicago saw charm and potential.
Rumored to be the first modern house built in Sandwich MA the building needed a lot of work and modernization to not only restore but make livable.
Working with Whitcomb Builders we completely gutted the interior and exterior and designed new fenestration and interiors while respecting the original plan and design. With new exterior insulation and horizontal cladding of Accoya the exterior will not only be more thermally robust but weather into a subtle edifice on the hill, gracefully continuing its life.
A new studio and garage creates a compound where holidays can be enjoyed and the owners art explored.
